Jacksonville State University and Gadsden State Community College will sign an agreement between the two institutions, formalizing a partnership aimed at better supporting students interested in transferring to JSU. JSU President John M. Beehler and Gadsden State President Martha Lavender will participate in a signing ceremony on Gadsden State’s campus at 1 p.m. on April 20.
JSU has launched a new Transfer Pathway Program to significantly increase the transferability of students from community colleges throughout the state of Alabama, regionally and nationally. The pathway model allows students to enroll in specific courses at the community college level that will better prepare them for the major they wish to pursue at JSU.
Gadsden State and JSU have had a close relationship for decades. The two institutions share space at their McClellan and East Broad campuses. This partnership will formalize that relationship and enable the two institutions to work together more strategically, helping university-bound students seamlessly transfer to JSU and meet their college and career goals.
