The Gadsden Public Library is hosting a free solar eclipse viewing part on Monday, August 21, 2017 starting at 12 P.M. and lasting until 3 P.M..
The event will open with a presentation from Justin Tinker, Jacksonville State University student and vice-president of the school's newly formed Astronomy Club, who will explain how a solar eclipse works, the different kinds of eclipses, what factors determine the best viewing location and how to safely view the event.
Cookies and lemonade will be available throughout the event.
