Lou Vickery: The South Alabama Tribe of Creek Indians was one of the five Native American cultures that contributed to the formation of our great state and the first to be designated as “civilized.” Our speaker is an ancestor of the Creeks and will share his vast knowledge of his family, contributions, changes, and challenges that have occurred over the tribe’s long history. Touching on General Andrew Jackson, Trail of Tears, federal road construction effect, among others, Lou will present facts, lore, and personal remembrances of this great nation.
