Please make plans to attend the January 10th 2019 NHLA members meeting at the Rainbow City Community Center located at 3702 Rainbow Drive in Rainbow City, Alabama. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
All of us are probably ready to escape the “cabin fever” that we feel after the rainy and cold weather we are experiencing this winter. We are so fortunate to live in a beautiful area with mountains, valleys, rivers and streams and we look forward to getting outside in nice spring weather and go for a walk or a ride on the lake. Our speaker this month will tell us about new exciting opportunities to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty of Alabama.
The speaker at our January meeting will be Sheila Smith. Ms. Smith’s responsibilities include being the Manager of the Lake Harris Shoreline Office and APC recreational facilities on 12 reservoirs which includes 64 recreational sites. She will provide information to us concerning a new initiative by Alabama Power Company to create hiking/nature trails on existing Alabama Power Company natural undeveloped or recreation property. This project is part of their participation to work with local communities to enhance recreation opportunities for users to build a healthier lifestyle and to enjoy the aesthetic value of these areas of Alabama. (This project will be branded as “The Preserves”).
We invite everyone to attend the meeting and learn about this exciting initiative.
We will also provide updates on past, current and future Neely Henry Lake Association projects and initiatives. In addition, we welcome the comments of NHLA members regarding new initiatives that you believe should be supported by the NHLA.
There will be refreshments and door prizes.
