The Neely Henry Lake Association will be meeting at 6:30 PM Thursday, May 3rd 2018 at the Rainbow City Community Center, 3702 Rainbow Drive. The featured speakers will be Captain Matt Brooks, Northern District Commander ALEA Marine Patrol Division and Trooper David Mobley, recently assigned ALEA Marine Patrol officer for Neely Henry Reservoir. Captain Brooks and Trooper Mobley will discuss recent organizational changes associated with “The State of Alabama Law Enforcement Agency” (ALEA), boating safety/regulations, recent incidents on Alabama’s waters and boating/safety issues specific to Neely Henry Lake. In addition, there will be an opportunity to ask Captain Brooks and Trooper Mobley any questions regarding their areas of responsibility.
This is an excellent time to have a meeting focusing on boating/water safety as many people will be involved in boating and water related activities throughout the upcoming summer season. Each year on U.S. waterways hundreds of lives are lost, thousands are injured and millions of dollars of property damage occurs because of preventable recreational boating accidents. We, as boat operators, passengers or concerned citizens, can make a difference by adhering to ALEA Marine Patrol regulations.
At the conclusion of these presentations, the following important Neely Henry Lake projects/issues will be reviewed:
