A meeting of the Neely Henry Lake Association will be held at 6:30 P.M. Thursday, March 1st 2018 at the Rainbow City Community Center, 3702 Rainbow Drive. This meeting will include information provided by Hugh Stump (Executive Director of Greater Gadsden Area Tourism) involving the status of the Neely Henry Lake “Economic Impact Study” that is scheduled to begin during April of this year.
A study of this type objectively illustrates the importance of the lake to the people, counties, communities and businesses that are impacted by Neely Henry Lake. It can also support/justify important lake protection/improvement projects and impact property values etc. The Neely Henry Lake Association is a co-sponsor of this study and Hugh will highlight the role of the NHLA to assist in the completion of the study. (The “Economic Impact Study” is tentatively scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2018 and will be conducted by Jacksonville State University and the University of Alabama).
In addition to Hugh’s presentation, Shane Ellison (Administrative Assistant to the Mayor of Gadsden) will discuss river related improvement projects located near Gadsden Landing. This will include detailed information about “The Venue” project located at the sight of the former K-Mart building. As many of you know, this project is now under construction.
At the conclusion of these presentations there will be updates on several important Neely Henry Lake Association projects and issues. The following will be covered:
