The parade will form at the Etowah County Courthouse on Ninth Street and Forrest Avenue and proceed down Broad Street. The parade will turn right on First, disbanding after the entry passes Walnut Street. Please pay special attention to the staging area map when you receive it and make sure all the members of your group know where to line up.
There will be a float competition; however there will be no competition for the bands. We would like as many groups as possible to enter a float. The competition will be divided into two divisions based on the entry category -- commercial division, and non-commercial division. Each division will be awarded a first, second and third place prize. In addition, there will be a cash prize for the best non-float, non-band entry. The entries will be judged on the theme, and the sights and sounds of the season.
All entries must be decorated with lights, music and physical decoration. Individuals must have something in addition to just a car, something that will excite the spectators. This parade is for the children so we want all entries decorated with lights, sounds and physical decorations. We also would like as many entries as possible to have floats that use the theme to make the parade exciting for the spectators. We thank each of you in advance and hope you use your imagination to make this a fantastic parade for our spectators.
